The Kulevi Solar Plant has entered operation in western Georgia, adding a new industrial solar project to the country’s growing commercial renewable-energy market.
According to JinkoSolar, the project was developed by Renewable Georgian Energy and has a capacity of 637 kW DC / 500 kW AC.
The company said the plant is expected to generate approximately 730,000 kWh of electricity annually. The output will supply a local fish processing plant, helping to reduce its dependence on grid electricity and lower long-term energy costs.
JinkoSolar said the project uses its Tiger Neo high-efficiency photovoltaic modules. It also estimated that the solar plant could reduce electricity costs by around USD 400,000 over its lifetime.
The post did not disclose the name of the fish processing company or the total project investment value.
Industrial solar projects of this kind remain an important part of Georgia’s emerging solar market. While smaller than utility-scale developments, they show how on-site and near-site generation is being used to support business operations and improve energy efficiency in the productive sector.
The Kulevi project also highlights the role of international equipment suppliers and local developers in expanding Georgia’s commercial solar footprint.
