Thirty-one solar power plants were listed for potential commissioning in Georgia during 2026 under the country’s transmission-network development planning.

The projects appear in a ten-year network-development document prepared by Georgian State Electrosystem. Together, the listed plants have forecast annual generation of approximately 346.1 GWh.

The pipeline is strongly concentrated in Kakheti, where 23 of the projects are located. Three are listed in Kvemo Kartli, two in Samtskhe-Javakheti, with additional projects in Samegrelo, Sighnaghi and Rustavi.

Many of the facilities are relatively small, with projected annual generation close to 3 GWh. The list also includes several larger entries, led by the 50 MW Geosteel solar plant with forecast output of 70 GWh and the Iliaszminda project at 48.9 GWh.

Other comparatively large projects include Akhaltsikhe at 14.1 GWh, Sakuneti at 11.4 GWh and Udabno at 10.1 GWh of forecast annual generation.

The document originally identified 32 prospective solar plants, one of which was reported to have entered operation in 2025. The other 31 were placed in the 2026 schedule.

The list should be read as a planning pipeline rather than confirmation that every project has secured finance, completed construction or entered commercial operation. Network-development plans can include prospective projects whose schedules later change.

Even with that qualification, the geographic spread and total forecast generation show that solar is becoming a more visible part of Georgia’s project pipeline. Actual commissioning progress will determine how much of that pipeline becomes operating capacity.
